Temperatures in the 90s, with a heat index of 105… That wasn’t going to stop Thompson Carr Auctions from selling tables full of personal property, a home, and 26 acres of land for the McCoig family.

The day began at 8:00 AM with unloading a trailer full of antiques and whatnots. Stuff as far as the eye could see… Ok, maybe not, but there was A TON of stuff. Antique tools, fishing poles, lawn mowers, furniture, jewelry, even a 1937 antique Dodge car! You name it, we had it in this sale.
Good thing we had a bunch of strong gentleman there to help us that day. 😉 Who never once complained about being tired or hot… Well, that may not be the whole truth. Shhh…We’re truly grateful for their help!

We were also delighted to have the CAS (Christian Academy of the Smokies) girls Varsity Volleyball team there set up on the ever so charming front porch serving food and drinks. Oh, and delicious homemade baked goods. 🙂

Everything was finally lotted and ready to go! And let’s face it, it wouldn’t be a TC auction without our famous auction music playing in the background (Jimbo Whaley and Greenbrier)… I’m guessing it’s the only CD Todd owns.;) hehe

“Kevin and Keith, Andrew and Aaron…” -Jimbo Whaley

People slowly started arriving and were eager to bid. We were handing out bidder cards one right after the other… Oh, and auction fans to keep everyone as cool as possible. Let’s not forget, it was in the 90s, and that East Tennessee humidity was on full blast!

Finally it was auction time!

Bidder cards were going up left and right! SOLD! Was a very popular word that day. And that was just fine with us.

After auctioning and moving bulky personal property for almost 4 hours… everyone was tired, overheated and a little stinky. 😉

I’d say it was a another successful auction in the books!

Thank you to all who came out and participated!
